A Mechanic’s Workshop For Guys
I know lots of you guys dream of workshops for cars, and bikes, and… well, anything with an engine in it.
It doesn’t matter if it runs or not, right? Maybe it’s for vintage 20’s, 30’s, 40’s cars… or, classic 50’s and 60’s. And, muscle cars… well, they’re in a class of their own!
Restoration or just tinkering or serious grease-monkey stuff… you gotta have a workshop. You gotta have one of those big red tool box cabinets – on casters. Yeah, the one with all the neat drawers, shiny red metal and chrome. After all, you need someplace to put complete set (or two) of socket wrenches, and spark-plug spacers, and Lava soap for greasy nails and bloody knuckles.
If you’re really, really lucky, there’s a gal in your life who understands her place when it comes to a guy and his car. Of course, she should belong before the car… but just barely (grin).
A Workshop For Guys
Most men I know dream of their own workshops, and some of you lucky lads even have one! As a matter of fact, one of my friends has a woodworking shop “to die for” (see, I didn’t forget you gals). He has every hand tool you could imagine, a huge table saw, a custom work bench, sanders, and routers, and shapers. Dang… and envy!
He started out with a workbench pretty much like the photo on the right, but it didn’t last long. He’s one of these guys with so many tools that if they didn’t have a specific spot, he’d never find ‘em.
So, he did what every dyed-in-the-wool woodworker does. He designed and built his own workbench… and hand tool drawers, and small tool cabinet, and shaper tables. You get the idea. He got himself completely organized, and is mighty proud of it. So proud, in fact, that he wouldn’t let me take pictures… yet. He might put together a DIY woodworker’s dream shop.
Good news, though, I made him promise to let me market it if he ever did.
